Casa Lantana by Mel Ensign on the 2016 Modern Phoenix Home TourMel Ensign developed several sites on this hill, including his own home nearby. Frank Wallace, owner of a highway contracting company, commissioned Ensign to design this home and incorporated into the landscape many of the petrified wood treasures his company found while excavating roads up north. The master bedroom and its patio have sweeping views of the valley, the guest bedroom has clerestory windows that frame the horizon, and the kitchen was remodeled to open it up to the great room. The original garage was transformed into a game room and pool lounge.
