Modern Phoenix Week 2013 + Left of Central Home Tour
The Sunview House
Designer: Ralph Haver AIA
Remodel: The Ranch Mine
Year: 1953
Completion: 100%
Style: Organic Midcentury Modern
Notes: This home was once owned by Ralph Haver’s mother, Alice Haver, and was probably built by his brother, contractor Robert Haver, in Sun View Estates. The current owner was “right-sizing” and wished for a more urban experience closer to the core of the city. White paint was blasted off the red brick to reveal a rustic finish. Sliding doors hung on barn hardware give access to guest and music rooms. The unusual treatment above the master bedroom are ends and pieces left over from demolition. The signature nine-pane window treatment by the front door was re-interpreted.
